Neroli and her friend Marcia were taking a walk through Puzzle Wood Estate in the Forest Of Dean, Gloucestershire, when they came across a miniature Shetland pony mare in distress.
Neroli immediately went to help the mare, Tara, and sent her friend back to the estate coffee shop to call for help.
Coffee shop manager Freda Pritchard returned with Marcia to lend a hand and together she and Neroli delivered the foal before the vet arrived.
Tara appeared to be struggling a bit so Neroli and Freda assisted by pulling the foal out. Freda said they hadn’t even known that Tara was in foal.
A vet has since checked Tara and her baby over and both are doing well.
The foal, a chestnut colt, was name Nero in honour of Neroli.
