City Of Casey Riding Of The Bounds 2008




The Riding of the Bounds is part of a 550-year-long celebration which involves residents riding on horseback around the Borough of Berwick-Upon-Tweed, in Northumberland, United Kingdom, in a traditional ceremony to protect its borders.

Riding Of The Bounds The 2007 Riding of the Bounds event saw over 230 horse riders and horse-drawn vehicles take part in a 15 kilometre journey which started at Akoonah Park and rode around Berwick and Upper Beaconsfield, then finished back at Akoonah Park. A different route will be taken this year, but is still expected to take approximately 2 hours.

The cost of Riding of the Bounds includes the ride, a certificate of participation, BBQ lunch and the traditional ceremony. Early bird entry prices are available until 1 August 2008, so make sure you register early for a discount.

Dress up and show exemplary riding skills as prizes will be awarded in six categories:
- Champion Riders – Hotspur Trophy
- Mayor’s Choice – King Robert The Bruce Trophy
- Best Presented Group – Kay Irving Trophy
- Best Horse Drawn Vehicle – Grace Darling Trophy
- Most Australian Rider – Ned Kelly Trophy
- Best Western Turnout – Sir William Wallace Trophy
